Administrative papyrus
On the recto of Cat. 1891 there is a dated list of names of workmen at Deir el-Medina. The list was drawn up by high officials who assembled the group and increased the workforce to 120 men. This was enacted according to an order instructed by the Pharaoh. Unfortunately, only the beginning section of the list of names has survived, that of the “right side” led by a chief workman named Nekhemmut.
On the verso there is an account of the delivery of supplies to the workmen of the temple of Ramesses III as part of temple celebrations. The supplies include honey, ointment and curd. This text is followed by a dated note about the delivery written by a scribe of the treasury of the Temple of Amun.
