Letter
Provv. 3581 is a fragmentary letter written by the overseer of the treasury Djehutynefer, to an unknown party whose name has been lost due to damage to the papyrus. In the letter, Djehutynefer writes about the deliveries of emmer corn and senu (?) by one of his servants to the recipient of the letter. The letter also mentions a coffin and incense which might indicate that the rest of the content was connected to the preparation of a burial in the Valley of the Queens, the place where this letter was found by Turin archaeologists in the early 20th century. This theory is further supported by the mention of two men, Sihathor and Remny, one of whom received rations for his efforts, the other not, which would imply they helped in preparing this event.
