General description

Contract

Cat. 2126 belongs to the private archives of Tsenhor, a woman belonging to a family of choachytes, “those who offer libations”, as part of the cult of the dead. It dates to 498 BC and outlines the establishment of Ruru, Pasherenese’s daughter, as one of his two heirs; the other being her younger brother Irturu. In 517 BC, Pasherenese had already stipulated that his patrimony would be divided between Ruru and any other children that would eventually be born. In fact, her brother is born after that date and here, nineteen years later, Pasherenese confirms his children as his heirs, presumably shortly prior to his death. The verso contains the names of witnesses.
