Administrative papyrus
On the recto of Cat. 2044/013 there are three journal accounts. The first text makes note of the transportation of stones and mentions the boatmen of the Pharaoh. The second is a short journal entry about funerary equipment, and chapels made from gold and faience. The third text records the delivery of oil, fresh fat and rafters of wood.
On the verso of this papyrus is a journal account of goods to be loaded which were delivered by barges. It also mentions the rejoicing of the Deir el-Medina workers as well as the production of plaster and pottery. Furthermore it states the arrival of the “enemy” which causes the group of workmen to cease their activity, and are later urged to leave their post by two policemen. The policemen warn the workers not to go back to work and wait until further notice. The enemy then goes on to attack and loot those who were remaining in the area. The final text on the verso is a list of various cubit measurements.
