Contract about the exchange of a cow
Cat. 2128 belongs to the private archives of Tsenhor, a woman belonging to a family of choachytes, “those who offer libations”, as part of the cult of the dead. It dates to 487 BC and outlines the exchange of a cow for another one. The exchange is between Irtured, a farmer, and Irturu, choachyte of the necropolis of Djeme, one of Tsenhor’s sons. The presence of this contract in Tsenhor’s archives and her son’s indicates that it may have been under her name this cow was exchanged. The verso contains a list of witnesses.
