Papyrus reporting a case submitted to the great council
This papyrus fragment is one of the many pieces of evidence that we have on the legal role of the qenebet, the council of Deir el-Medina . We read in the text that, in the presence of the scribe Amennakht and a foreman, a case was submitted “asking the great council for its opinion”. Unfortunately, the fragmentary nature of the text does not allow us to understand which case it was exactly.
