Il “Libro dei morti” di Iuefankh
Il papiro (Cat. 1791) lungo quasi 19 metri, completamente preservato, contiene – da destra a sinistra – 165 capitoli del cosiddetto “Libro dei Morti”, una raccolta di formule per la guida, la protezione e la resurrezione del defunto nell'Aldilà. Per raggiungere tali obiettivi, dopo l’imbalsamazione e la processione alla tomba, determinate condizioni erano indispensabili: la conservazione e il sostentamento del corpo, la capacità di trasformazione, la giustificazione e la protezione del defunto e il possesso della conoscenza. Sono questi i temi dei 165 capitoli scritti in geroglifico corsivo per Iuefankh, figlio di Tasheretemenu.
